We’re kicking off 2022 with an announcement of one of the key aims of starting Thought Rebellion: Supporting, nurturing and developing new writers. Writing is a wonderful, but lonely craft, and many modern writers/authors have had no specific mentoring or support to develop or improve their writing, share ideas and frustrations, and meet other likeminded writers. Many are brimming with experience and good ideas but making the leap to getting that information out into the world in written form can feel overwhelming.
We want to use our experiences (the good, the bad, and the ugly!) to start a revolution in quality writing and we plan to do this in a number of ways:
1. We’ve poured all our writing, speaking, and engagement experience into a book that is out in March 2022 (you can pre-order here - see below for details).
2. We're developing a series of on demand talks, eGuides and downloadables to help you zero in on specific aspects of writing that you find challenging such as referencing, structuring, or social media.
3. We are launching writing workshops – we’ll be starting up group writing workshops that will give you the tools, skills and confidence you need to get started, or develop as a writer.
4. We are offering one to one mentoring – you can book a variety of different support packages where we can look at your work, offer constructive feedback and provide individualised tips and hints. Scroll down for more details or click here to find out more.
We’re delighted to give you some more details of our latest book! This one is co-authored by both of us (Amy and Lyndsey) and we’ve been planning it for months. The Writing Book was written for all the budding writers out there. The wannabe writers, the experienced writers, the improving writers, the rusty writers.
Why this book? Well with 17 books published or in the pipeline between us, as well as extensive teaching and speaking experience, not to mention 40 years combined work in research and clinical practice, we wanted to put all the highs and lows of that experience down on paper to support others. Whether you’re thinking about starting out on your writing journey or have several pieces under your belt, we wanted to share our knowledge in helping you develop your skills.
We wanted to write a practical and informative go-to manual on how to write a book, but it’s actually a lot broader than that, mainly because writing and sharing your book is much broader than simply putting pen to paper. We’re aware that there are so many different types of writer, and writing. So this book covers writing books, but also shorter written pieces, and has sections about using social media, conveying your work in a presentation, how to use the evidence, and overcome imposter syndrome in your writing.
The book is full of practical tips for how to make your writing come alive, improve your writing skills, promote your work, and submit a book proposal. From writing a blurb to dealing with rejection, from hacks for finding time to write, to understanding the competition - we’ve got it covered.
The Writing Book, published by Thought Rebellion is available for pre order now.
We offer one to one mentoring sessions for support with your writing. You might want to book an ongoing support package while you write your book, or a one off session (or two) for specific aspects of writing such as referencing, structuring, writing support or book promotion.
Based on our strengths we will both be offering different elements of support, bringing in additional experts for you to work with. This will let you build a support package unique to your needs.

We’re gathering expressions of interest to finalise the format of the club. We want to keep the club to small numbers, so everyone feels happy to share, feels connected to the group, and has enough opportunity to ask the questions relevant to them. So if you’d like to be the first to know how to book on click below to leave your details and we'll be in touch!
We are excited to share our plans to launch a series of writing workshops over the coming months. We will be offering a series of online workshops ranging from an evening introduction to writing, through to a full coaching package. These workshops bring together our combined expertise of 40 years working in academia and clinical practice, alongside our experiences of authoring and promoting 17 books and hundreds of articles.
Whether you are looking to write books, conference presentations, social media posts, blogs, or leaflets, there is something for every kind of writer in our interactive workshops. You will learn in a small group setting, and be able to apply the principles of the workshop to your personal writing goals.
